Kody O’Bear is a non-profit safe and fun environment for kids. Kody is a mascot that helps kids around Sussex County, Delaware. Kody O’Bear came to me asking for a makeover on his website. It’s was outdated and needed to become responsive. I just love when I get to work on projects whose goal is to help kids, people and/or animals.
Project: An updated website that is mobile responsive
Designed in: Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator Developed in: WordPress
Challenge: how to make this site that is appealing to kids and their parents. Something easy-to-navigate and responsive to mobile devices.
The illustration of Kody and the image of his friends was provided to me as a starting point. I designed the site template and colors based on these illustrations. Because this is for kids, the goal was to make this website feel more fun and appealing to kids. I used bright colors and changed the font to a rounded, hand-written style that is still easy to read for beginners. I wanted to organize the information into different categories to make it well organized, rather than just having one blog for all. So now there is a Kids recipe page, a gallery page, a latest news page, etc.
Below are a few “Before and After” photos of this design makeover. You can visit the website at www.kodyobear.com
