Bryan Huey wanted a design makeover for his website. Bryan is edgy, youthful, dynamic and wanted to convey this with big, bold designs. He preferred to use photographs and wanted to stay away from illustrative designs.
Project: An updated website that is mobile responsive
Designed in: Adobe Photoshop Developed in: WordPress
Challenge: Create a big impact with real photographs withouth looking cheesy photoshopped.
Because photoshopping photos together and adding big texture and shadow can become time consuming, I approached this project a little different. Instead of spending the time on different designs that Bryan might not use, I pulled different photos and fonts and we discussed what appealed to him and what different images he would like to see together. This saved us a good amount of time out of what could have used a large chunk of his budget.
In the end I took an electric soundwave, a hand, water and put those elements together. I then played with effects on fonts that appealed to Bryan until we came to this. I then took the time to refine the design and details incorporating his name and tagline. I’m really happy with the way this turned out!
Bryan opted to have one page rather than having clients click around. When you scroll down this is the second portion of the website.
To keep branding consistent, I design cover art for social media such as Twitter pages (seen below), email signatures and other platforms.
