So, I decided that it’s been way too long since I have been doing any drawing. To tackle this I went out and bought a new sketch pad and a new, on-sale, black india ink pen.
Now, what to draw? This was easy the first few nights. I drew my dogs….
This one is Cosmic. And she snores. A lot.
A few nights later, I was looking for something to draw. I am the type of person that needs to see something to draw it. I can’t make up these amazing little things and I totally envy artists who can do that. That is another issue though…
I follow Dog Milk: Where Dog Meets Design on Instagram and they posted Maude. (You can click the picture to view it on instagram).
But how cute is this dog? And I needed something to draw… So I sketched her and uploaded it to Instagram and tagged Dog Milk because I thought “hey, it’s kind of weird to post a drawing of a picture of a dog they posted and not let them know.” And maybe it’s not weird and maybe that’s just the way the internet goes, but it just didn’t feel right to me.
And I was repaid for my good morals. (Okay – I know I didn’t save any lives or help the homeless, etc., but still!) Dog Milk then posted it to twitter and to their facebook page. I was “surprised-startled” when I was scrolling through facebook. It got 50 likes (which is big time for little ‘ol me) and it really brightened my day.
And that, my friends, is the closest I’ve come to feeling famous (so far)…… 😉
