Atty didn’t really like meat. He liked veggies. He drank his water carefully so it didn’t spill anywhere. Atty didn’t want you to love him on your terms. It was his or nothing (so I felt pretty special when he was excited to see me). He had these amazing blue eyes that looked into your soul and you would know that this was no ordinary dog.
One weekend, Atty stayed with us at our house. When we left, I gave him our dog’s old Down Feather Comforter in his crate to make him extra comfortable. I came home to find Atty in a sea of feathers looking at me like, “Well, what did you expect me to do?” I have many memories of Atty, but that is one of my favorites.
Atty went to the “rainbow bridge” recently and I was honored when Lena, the owner, asked me to paint him for her husband, Ian, as a Christmas gift.
One of my FAVORITE subjects EVER. Rest in peace, Atty! You were a good boy! One of the BEST.
